Organic carrots

The name for the root vegetable varies from region to region: in the north and east of Germany, "carrot" is commonly used, while in the south, including Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, "carrot" is preferred. These differences are also reflected in cooking and linguistic usage.

Carrots are nutritionally valuable. They are an excellent source of beta-carotene, which is converted to vitamin A and is important for eyesight, the immune system and skin health. They also contain vitamin K, C, B vitamins, potassium and manganese as well as fiber, which aids digestion and can help with weight control.

100 grams of raw carrots provide around 41 kcal, consist of 88% water and, in addition to 0.9 g protein and 0.2 g fat, provide 9.6 g carbohydrates, including 4.7 g sugar, and 2.8 g fiber. This nutrient composition makes carrots a healthy, low-calorie snack that can be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen.

In colloquial language, the exact meaning is often ignored. In botany, it must always be clearly defined whether we are talking about the species Allium cepa or a plant organ. Organic peppers

Organic peppers, the colorful and spicy pods, are not only a culinary highlight in many dishes, but can also come from a rather unexpected region of Germany: the Palatinate. This region, known for its viticulture and picturesque landscapes, is also a fertile growing area for high-quality, organic vegetables, including organic peppers.

The organic peppers from the Palatinate are characterized by their special quality and intense flavour. Grown on organically cultivated fields, they benefit from the rich, nutrient-rich soil and the mild climate of the region. These near-natural growing conditions not only ensure a lower impact on the environment, but also produce peppers with a higher vitamin and mineral content.

Organic peppers offer enormous culinary variety. They can be used raw in salads, as a spicy touch in stews and sauces or grilled as a side dish. Their spiciness, which varies from variety to variety, brings any dish to life and can be dosed according to taste. They are also rich in vitamin C and other antioxidant compounds that can strengthen the immune system and have an anti-inflammatory effect.

What many people don't know: The Palatinate as a growing region for organic peppers offers ideal conditions that make this vegetable treasure special. Organic wild garlic

Wild garlic, often referred to as "forest garlic", is a true delicacy that is mainly found in spring in moist deciduous and mixed forests in Europe and Asia. With its broad, green leaves and characteristic garlicky aroma, it not only enriches the kitchen, but also has numerous health benefits.

Wild garlic is extremely versatile in culinary terms. It can be used raw in salads, as a spicy ingredient in soups and sauces or as the main ingredient in an aromatic wild garlic pesto. Its fine garlic aroma gives every dish a fresh and spicy note, without being as intense in aftertaste as conventional garlic.

In terms of health, wild garlic is in no way inferior to garlic. It is rich in vitamin C and iron and has antioxidant properties that can strengthen the immune system and help protect cells. It is also said to have a blood pressure-lowering and digestive effect.

Its harvest time in spring makes wild garlic one of the first fresh herbs of the year, which makes it a special highlight in seasonal cuisine. The opportunity to collect wild garlic yourself in the forest combines the experience of nature with culinary enjoyment and helps to ensure that this unique taste is celebrated anew every year.
