Many connoisseurs and even locals are often surprised to learn that the fiery peppers also thrive in the Palatinate. This region, traditionally known for its vineyards and fertile soils, also offers ideal conditions for chilli cultivation. Thanks to the mild climate, the proximity to the Rhine and the plentiful hours of sunshine, chillies of various degrees of heat can be grown here. However, despite these ideal conditions, knowledge of Palatinate chilli cultivation is not widespread. This gives local producers the chance to surprise with their products and delight connoisseurs and new discoverers alike.
